Radio spectrum is critical to the continued growth of wireless
communications and other applications. But spectrum is a scarce
commodity globally. The key is to work around this issue using Software
Defined Radio, Cognitive Radio, Dynamic Spectrum Access and other
advanced technologies. At the upcoming What’s Next in Wireless
Innovation Meeting & Workshop in Beijing, stakeholders in the
Asia/Pacific wireless industry will have firsthand opportunity to come
together to learn, exchange and discuss the latest developments with the
goal of understanding the current state of wireless innovation around
the world. Additionally, efforts will be made to identify projects that
could be done collaboratively within the Wireless Innovation Forum (WINNF)
to support needs of our members and the community as a whole. The
Meeting will focus on the commercial markets including wireless
infrastructure and cellular handsets, including discussion on the
regulatory environment in which these technologies operate.
