Enabling Voice & SMS services in the new mobile broadband world

With LTE, wireless communications is about to enter a new phase where higher speed and capacity delivers a true mobile broadband experience for users. Such performance will enable operators to grow their business and data revenue for years to come. But all this accomplishments won't be complete unless industry operators agree on a common solution for LTE to carry voice and SMS. According to ABI Research, of all the service revenue, 75% comes from voice.

As LTE is an IP-only technology, supporting voice as well as SMS based on circuit-switch technology is a challenge that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

The upcoming Voice over LTE Forum is a timely opportunity to evaluate the various technology options ranging from IMS, CS and VoLGA. This gathering allows participants to openly discuss the relevant issues with hopes that operators worldwide can come to a consensus on a solution for voice over LTE. At stake is not only the ability of delivering voice services or global roaming but also the very success of LTE itself.

Call for Presentation

As the next generation LTE networks undergo R&D in preparation for a pre-commercial trial, this event is also a timely opportunity to be exploring voice communication. Unlike voice over wired packet networks, the technical challenge for implementing packetized voice on an end-to-end basis over the wireless domain is much more complicated. The Call for Participation for Voice over LTE Forum is now open. We want to hear from you. Kindly contact Ms Maggie Li for information about the speaking criteria. Email:  maggie.li@infoexws.com

Why Attend

Of all the applications in the next generation mobile broadband communications, voice remains the most important as well as the most difficult to implement. Voice over LTE Forum features an educational program covering the strategies and current analysis on circuit based architecture as well as next generation IMS options. Come learn about each of these cost effective solutions and how you can overcome the obstacles in providing highly reliable voice as well as other legacy services. You can also explore other issues such as roaming out of range, how to achieve the voice QoS subscribers expect, what requirements will LTE voice have for handsets, plus much more.

Who Should Attend

3G/4G operators, LTE voice solution providers, handset vendors, network equipment manufacturers, service providers, content providers, chipset vendors, mobile application developers, 4G R&D labs/institutes.
